2012:
This is a slow, heavily interrupted build, I’m afraid……. my latest excuse is that I’m waiting on a new workshop to be built…no? I’m just waiting for spare time..

2020:  During COVID-19 Lockdown, etc…

Well, the roof masking & painting didn’t quite work out as well as I had planned, as it left heavy ridge lines between the paint colours, along with some fine cuts where I had removed excess masking strips.

So I abandoned that idea, paint strippered the roof, then repaired it, primed it, to be painted just white….

At the same time I realised that I could solve all this much more practically, expediently & successfully…. with a DECAL!

So I found a suitable Union Jack image on the internet, and printed that onto White Decal Paper, then sealed it with “White Knight Crystal Clear Acrylic” from Bunnings.

And before you ask – YES, the red diagonals ARE correct!!

In between preparing the roof and body all over again, I decided that the interior looked a bit sparse,
and was in need of some “carpet” effect. I discarded any ideas of using FLOCKING, Fibre-glass waste,
crushed Peppermint Crisp, or blendered cale, and went for FELT –
Half price at RIOT, so I bought 1 x Black & 1 x Red for $1.39.

I decided to use the 2mm double-sided tape that I’ve had for ages,
so that I would have better control of the adhesion….

Of Course, this would have been a lot easier EARLIER in the construction process,
and added a Driver’s Rubber Mat – made from black “fabric” adhesive tape.

2023: Let’s get this done – enthused after the 1/20 Bugatti Type 35, and painting encouragement from Harry Edmond.

No Roof decal – after 3 attempts

No side stripes, after the first one disintegrated

Added Bonnet stay – reenforced bonnet hinges, added under-bonnet supports.

Painted with Rattle-can Tamiya Red, and White  – Finished with Tamiya “Finish” polishing cream, then Tamiya “Polishing Wax” – added a coupla cans of Heineken!
