Built OOB, except for inclusion of German Swastikas.
Forgot to put the kill markings on the rudder though.
I found it one of the better 1/48 Bf109 F/G kits to build.
Easy construction (not over engineered) and it captures that lean look of the Bf109 very well.

Let’s not waste time further analyzing the Messerschmitt Bf109 here. Instead let’s have a look at the unit heraldry on this particular Bf109F-4.
‘White 6’ was flown by Werner Pichon-Kalau von Hofe who would go on to achieve twenty-one aerial combat victories. He commanded the 7/Staffel of the 3/Gruppe of Jagdgeschwader 54. JG54 was the second highest scoring German fighter unit of the war. It mainly flew on the Eastern Front and claimed the fantastic total of at least shooting down 9,600 aircraft and was the second highest scoring unit to JG52. For most of 1942 the 7/Staffel based at Mensuvaara, near Lake Ladoga, Finland as part of Luftflotte 1 (Air Fleet 1). Unusually his aircraft carried all three unit insignia which was:

The large green heart of JG54 is a reminder of home for this units commanding officer Hans Trautloft which was the state of Thuringia. Thuringia is known as “the green heart of Germany.” This symbol was adopted by JG54 when it relocated to the Eastern Front in 1941.

The third group of JG54 had a black ‘Jesau Cross’ on a red shield. This unit was originally formed in Jesau, 1939 and is a district of Bautzen, Saxony.

For the Seventh Flight of the Third Group the flying clog was combined with the arms of Hamburg when Oberleutnant von Hofe took command in 1942. Hamburg was his home town.
