Model Description

Comments

When researching my previous Revell Concorde build I came across the story of protests which greeted the arrival of the Concorde prototype in Sydney, in 1972. As soon as I saw this I knew I’d enjoy tackling the subject as a diorama project. It also gave me an excuse to build the old Airfix Concorde Prototype kit!

F-DCAL decals were used, with the tail painted using a stencil cutter. I also added Armory models’ weighted resin wheels.

A range of N Scale figures were used (a close match for 1/144) from Preiser, Tomytec and Woodland Scenics, with the news camera made from a bit of styrene sheet and tube.

My symbolic representation of the observation deck was made with N Scale wall panels and fencing, some sheet styrene, and AK’s Concrete texture for dioramas.

The same concrete texture was used for the base. The stair truck was built with sheet styrene and 3D printed stairs on the basis of a repainted, and suitably 60s-ish, Tomytec N Scale truck.
